Today I could canoe from our point to East Allie Island. In past years when this opens up we have been able to boat to Barepoint anywhere from 9 to 19 days. That would mean Marina by April 30 th. But this year we still have -9 in forecast till 15 th. Should be boating before May 05 th
To venture onto ice around our island you have to choose your footing holes everywhere.
Next post will be when I can lower boat to see how far I can travel around April 21 or so ?

It was on news last night Kenora Mayor wants to close On/Mb border. He says he saw 20 Mb license plates in Town over weekend and wants everyone to stay home.
On another note the open water is getting closer to our dock by about 20’ a day . Except this morning is clear,calm and cold it all froze over ! Rick
With the cold weather last week we made 3” of ice in areas that were open water , this means we are now behind 1 week,yesterday’s wind/sun and plus 6 did lot damage to ice and it started to open up once again. Lake has risen about 2” since the open water first appeared at our dock. Rick
